City of San Mateo DUI Defense Lawyers

DUI Consultation

City of San Mateo DUI LawyersIf you or someone you know has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the City of San Mateo, deciding whether or not to obtain a qualified DUI defense attorney is one of the most important decisions that must be made.

In order to investigate the circumstances surrounding driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) arrest, challenge the evidence collected, inform you of your legal options, protect your personal rights, and successfully fight your San Mateo DUI charges, rely on the education, experience, and winning reputation of the Law Office of Robert Tayac.

Despite the fact that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is one of the most commonly charged crimes in California, many defense attorneys are ill equipped to handle such a specialized area of law. The extreme complexity of a driving under the influence case requires a DUI defense attorney to exhibit expertise on a variety of topics including: human physiology, chemistry, breath-alcohol testing, blood-alcohol testing, direct and cross-examination of expert witnesses, and strict law enforcement procedures for probable cause, preliminary screening, and chemical testing.

Unlike most criminal defense offices, the Law Office of Robert Tayac focuses primarily on driving under the influence defense. Every DUI lawyer employed by this office has received specialized training specifically targeted to the successful defense of DUI related charges. The Law Office of Robert Tayac is dedicated to providing the highest quality of legal representation possible and rest assured, your San Mateo DUI case will be given the utmost attention from start to finish.

In addition to the criminal DUI case initiated in the San Mateo County Superior Court, a DUI arrest also initiates a second case which is reviewed by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This case is evaluated by a hearing officer who is employed by the Department of Motor Vehicles’ Driver Safety Office and is tasked with determining the outcome of an individual’s driving privileges in California.

Drivers arrested for a DUI have only 10 days from the date of the arrest in San Mateo County to request a DMV hearingIn order to contest the grounds for suspension of an individual’s driver license, it is imperative that a request is made for an Administrative Per Se (APS) hearing within ten (10) days of the San Mateo DUI arrest. If the hearing is not requested within the allotted time, the individual automatically forfeits their right to contest the DMV’s license suspension action. As a result, the individual’s California driver license will be automatically suspended for four (4) months, beginning 30 days after the date of the DUI arrest. With so much at stake, it is critical to obtain a qualified driving under the influence defense attorney to help preserve your right to drive.

The Law Office of Robert Tayac has been helping clients accused of driving under the influence for nearly a decade. The office’s positive reputation, practical experience, winning track record, and unparalleled knowledge of California DUI laws have helped to make the Law Office of Robert Tayac the Bay Area’s premier DUI defense law firm. City of San Mateo General Information:

San Mateo History MuseumSan Mateo is a city in San Mateo County, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is one of the larger suburbs on the San Francisco Peninsula, located between Burlingame to the north, Foster City to the East, and Belmont to the south.

The best-known natural area of San Mateo is Coyote Point Park, a rock outcropped peninsula that juts out into San Francisco Bay. The early Spanish navigators named it "la punta de San Mateo", but cargo ships carrying grain in the bay renamed it "Big Coyote". By the 1890s the shore area was a popular beach called San Mateo Beach. Today Coyote Point is home to the Coyote Point Museum, one of the best natural history museums and wildlife centers in California.

Coyote Point was an early recorded feature of San Mateo in 1810. Beginning in the 1850s some wealthy San Franciscans began looking for summer or permanent homes in the milder mid-peninsula. While most of this early settlement occurred in adjacent Hillsborough and Burlingame, a number of historically important mansions and buildings trickled over into San Mateo.
